We are coming to the end of another year, just a few more months and it will be 2010! Truly amazing to me that only 20 years ago Tom and I were married. It seems like only yesterday. Anyway, during the past ten years, we have posted these insightul newsletters. Be sure to visit the previous years newsletters because the teachings and insights are still working today.

Fearless Living

Fearless Living is a class that we are offering now. This teaching is very timely, with everything going on in our world, but, there is no need to fear. The Lord said these things were going to happen, perhaps some of you hoped it wouldn't happen in our lifetime, but I believe that we are most blessed, because we may get to some amazing supernatural things happen on this planet that has never been seen before. And God brought you into this world at this particular time because He knew you could handle it and needed you for 'such a time as this'. I remember talking with my husband and he said, "I would have liked to have lived in the western days." I said, yeah, that would have been nice, but you would be dead! He said, "Oh, yeah..." So we have been given this wonderful opportunity to be alive and the ability to experience so many things. Some may not be so good, but even in those times, God will give us the wisdom, knowledge, and strength to "patiently endure." Then there will be awesome times that you won't even be able to grasp!!

This class teaches you how to live in both spectrums. We are to live at peace, that means, balanced. When our hearts are balanced our PH balance is balanced. Yes, our bodies respond to our heart condition. So learning to be at peace in whatever comes your way is the only way we are going to get through the things coming on this planet. If you have difficulty just getting your dishes done and becoming angry over a messy house, how are we going to overcome what is coming? We need to be able to be at peace in every situation.

I encourage you to pick up the book and then listen to the audio teachings provided on the website. You can go to books and DVD's to order your copy, and then go to the teachings link to listen.

Fearless living is for every believer. My husband said this, "A person who lives in fear is not facing evil." Selah

We Can Do Great Things For God, If We Don't Care Who Gets the Credit

I heard this statement while I was watching the show "Touched by an Angel" and it really is true. How many times do we "stop" doing things that we like to do because we weren't thanked, or felt appreciated? This is what getting "credit" means. I have to also add myself to this too, because all too often when we do things, deep inside we may want to get some kind of recognition for it. Then what happens, is after awhile, we stop doing those things because we feel like no one really cares about us, and so we stop. We stop doing something God still wants us to do. Like loving each other. We stop giving, we stop sharing, we stop visiting people because we feel used all up. But, if we do things because of God, not "for" anyone, we will do things never dreamed possible. We will not be so "careful" about what we do because we do it all for Him! And if he puts something in your heart to do, He will equip you to do it. The thing that stops most of us is our "thoughts" about it. How much will I have to do? Will it cost me? Will anyone help me?

I learned something from this statement personally. Having this ministry now for 14 years, I have wanted some help. Everytime someone wants to volunteer to help, it's short lived. I have been looking for a few people, even one individual to help me that has the same vision and passion I have. When I do, it's not long that I find they have their own vision, own agenda, and didn't fit. Many of the times, they just lost interest. Why? Because it wasn't "for" them. Ministry isnt about "us." It's for Him! And we may never see the fruit, we may never see lots of money, but we will get what we need.

So one day I asked God about this. Why doesn't anyone continue with me in this ministry? He spoke and said, "Because I called you to this ministry not them." He then said that He will give me what I need to do the work He's called me to. When other's are needed, He will bring them in. And I've seen it over and over. When I have a need, it's filled, not permanently (my idea) but temporarily for the moment. God was teaching me that my ways are not His ways, and other people have a call on their life specifically for them, and it may not be to help me on-going, just temporarily! So after all that, I understood my call. If I had individuals working for me, God may not be able to change my direction on a dime! And now that I look back, that's exactly what He is doing. He is getting me into something else and it doesn't take a "crew" to do it! God knows all along what we need, and learning to trust His judgment for our lives is all we need.

But, getting back to what I was saying a moment ago. How do you think Jesus felt when He ministered and loved so many people yet was betrayed by the very ones He helped? Do you think he was sad? Did he feel rejected? He was after all, a man. Having experiences like you and me. Then why do you think we won't go through these things?

Jesus had a strong spirit and didn't get "hurt feelings" when He wasn't recognized as the Messiah. Did He get all upset about it and lose His peace within? No, because He knew who He was. He knew the work He was sent here to do. He knew His father's love in heaven. He had been with Him prior to coming to this planet and knew everything there was to know about His Daddy. He felt accepted and loved, and so when he came here, those things sustained Him and kept Him.

What is sustaining us? Do we have that foundation of the Love of God within? The kind where we just have it, we don't earn it and it's unconditional? Someone who needs to be "recognized" is someone who isn't really walking in love. A person who truly loves will do things in secret. Perhaps send someone some money without saying who they are. Perhaps sending a gift, without leaving a return address. If you can't say amen, say ouchy! See, there are parts of us who want the credit. But, when we do things not wanting credit, we will do great things for God because we won't worry about the outcome. And what He sees you do in secret He will announce on the housetops! He will exhalt you, you don't need to. You cannot outgive God. This is a person who understands the principles of the Kingdom of God.

Matthew 6:4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.

What happens to a person who wants the glory. Now lets be honest. Let's see what happened to one of the kings in the Bible. He was eaten by worms!

Acts 12:21-23 And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them. And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man. And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.

Something to think about.

Brings us to the Kingdom of God

Who is fit for the kingdom of God? Those who don't look back, but presses on. Anyone who puts their hand to the plow and looks back is not fit for the kingdom of God.

Luke 9:62 "And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God."

What happened to lots wife? It wasn't that she turned and looked to see a burning city, it was that she looked back!

Genesis 19:26 "But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt."

What does that mean? Does that mean we cannot ever look back? No, it's because we have started a journey with Him, we are to trust Him to carry us forward. To look back means we stopped trusting Him and wanting to go back to where it was comfortable or familiar. It doesn't mean we aren't to look back on things that happened to us in the past for healing, because otherwise we would still be full of junk and a mess in our heart. Most of our brokenness comes from past relationships, growing up, etc., since we are a ministry of reconciliation, we need to go back and visit some of those things. But what it means is that we are not to take our eyes off of Him! That means when you have taken hold of His hand at salvation, we are to stay hand in hand. Our hand to the plough means more to me now. The plough is God. He is plowing the way for us to go forward, but fear will cause us to fall backwards and take our eyes off Him. We need to remember that He is going before us every day and planning things as we go. There is no provision for going backwards. So many scriptures are flooding my mind right now that backs this up:

Exodus 23:20-23 "Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared. For mine Angel shall go before thee, and bring thee in unto the Amorites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites: and I will cut them off."

Deuteronomy 31:8 "And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed."

Isaiah 45:12 "I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron:"

Isaiah 52:12 "For ye shall not go out with haste, nor go by flight: for the LORD will go before you; and the God of Israel will be your reward."

Luke 1:76-79 "And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways; To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins, Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us, To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace."

Isaiah 42:16 "And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them."

Psalm 119:105 "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."

Jesus has gone to heaven to prepare a place for us. He always goes before us.

John 14:2-3 "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."

Revelation 12:6 "And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days."

I don't see any passage of scripture where it says, I will go behind you, except when He was a cloud keeping rear-guard as the Isralites traveled through the wilderness. Did you know that there is no provision for your backside in the "Armor" of God? Why? Because the past is dead and gone, nothing back there can harm us! What we take with us on our journey and what we do from this day on is what matters. When we dwell in the past, we are fellowshipping with Devils. It's called, "Dead Works."

Hebrews 6:1-2 "Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment."

Dead Works work NOT the righteousness of Christ! As you can see, if we don't abide IN the doctrines of Christ, we don't really know God.

2 John 1:9 "Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son."

Now that we know we may have recognized some of our own heart conditions, what do we do about it? Do we get angry at ourselves for not being perfect? Do we fall under guilt and condemnation and even doubt our salvation? Not at all. We do what 1 John 1:9 says. "If we confess our sins...." So we need to simply, and with boldness, run to the throne of grace and tell all that is on our heart. God wants us to abide in Him, but if we are carrying all this junk around, we can't. We won't want to, we will run away from Him. Stop now and consider this, He loves you. He wants you blessed. He has promises to fulfill in your life. What are you waiting for? There is nothing that you have done that he has not already seen. So I urge you to run to Him, now, this very minute! Don't look back, don't hide your face in the sand, but look up for your redemption draws nigh.

Luke 21:28 "And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh."

Take a BOW-el

This ministry focuses on the spiritual aspects of things. I have personally undergone each and every insight and teaching provided on this website, and still growing and learning every day. Just the other day, I was purged from some more things, which I want to share in this article.

The teachings with Pleasant Valley Church address the area of sugars. That we can eat anything we want. I had a problem with that, becasue I don't believe we can. Even Paul said, not everything I can have is good for me. We have to know our own bodies. With that, I went on a quest to find the answers for my own life. I still had some problems with my bowel movements, some call it IBS. Not sure it's that extreme, but I still have constipation and don't go as often as I should. About 15 years ago I began a cleansing program, but nothing happened! I fasted and drank junk for a week, but no results! I remember several years before that I had to go to the doctor because I had a backache. They did an x-ray and asked how long it's been since I had a bowel movement. I was embarrassed, but I told them a long time. The x-ray showed my whole colon, intestines were full. And even from that time, I've not expelled what is in there.. Yuck, I hate to say this over the web, but does anyone else have problems like this? We don't talk about this at the pulpit!

But we need to. Not only do we address things that are heartfelt and spiritual, but things for the body. We are to present our bodies a living sacrifice. That sounds to me it's also flesh and blood. We are so busy getting at the junk in our hearts, that we ignore our health. Or perhaps you are working on the health part of it more than on the spirit. I think there has to be a balance in everyone's life.

So what is it that I am getting at. Let me share my story:

It is true that we can eat sugar, milk, wheat, etc., but in it's proper form. The other day I was toiling in my mind about foods, again, and the Lord spoke as clearly as he possibly could and said. "Linda, the milk and honey that was in the promised land is not what is being taught of today. Milk is food from the land. Milk comes from plants, roots, etc. He wasn't talking about cows, as a matter of fact, I think they sacrificed cows, etc. Anyway, and the honey is good! But not processed and chemically enduced sugar. See, for several years whenever I would have a soda or eat refined sugars in desserts, I would get dizzy. I would have bouts of verdigo, and have had them for years. I knew years ago that sugar intake would stimulate this problem. But when I found the teachings of Pleastant Valley Church that said you can have sugar, I was confused. I knew my body was saying one thing but my heart was saying another. So when the Lord showed me that it is true, I can have sugar, but in the way God created it, in fruits, pure cane, etc., from the ground, that was perfectly fine!

The other thing he showed me very clearly, and that's where I get to the bowel. Is that if you are impacted and you eat a bunch of sugar, malabsorption takes place where the body cannot obsorb the sugars properly and so it plays havoc. If I had a good purging system going on my bowels, the I dont' think the sugar, refined or not, would bother me. Why does it not bother my husband to sit there and eat an icecream cone in front of me? Because he has a clean colon! I know I do not, so when I eat stuff like that it backs up, stays in my system longer, and causes havoc.

The reason I know this to be true now, and understand my body more, is that recently I got food poisoning. I was SOOO sick! So sick I had to cancel a conference, and that hasn't happened but one other time in my 14 years of ministry. So, I was deathly ill. But I got through it, and now on the other side. My husband got food poisoning too, but he just purged it into Charmin Land. He had a healthy colon and intestines, and so could eliminate those toxins. I could not! They stayed inside me and I got to experience it.

Until I get my colon in good proper working condition, I cannot just eat anything I want. So then I asked, "But Lord, I have dealt with all my spirit fear, I know that fear is behind this issue, so what's up?" Then He spoke clearly to me,"You had fear all your life, this backup is of years past. It may take a little more creativity to get it all cleaned out." So that's where I am today. I am not in fear about what is going on in my body, God knows all about it, but I am not in fear about doing something about it. So I have found a simple recipe to do a colon cleanse. Some salt water and caster oil. I'm also eating more fiber and drinking lots of water... go figure! I'm eating sugars still, but in fruits and vegetables. This is something I HAVE to do. Once my colon is back in tip-top shape, then I can eat anything!!! I can enjoy an icecream with my husband, I can have a handfull of M&Ms. I can enjoy some of the pastries, etc. But until I take care of my body, I have to use some self-discipline and do what I know in my heart do to for me.

Low and behold, several days after making this decision to take care of my bowel, I have not had any dizzy spells! I have felt rejunenated and healthier than ever. I think the trade-off was well worth it. I'm still in the process of all this, so I will keep you posted on the final movement - bowel that is! Ha Ha.

Tom's Tidbits

People who live in fear are not facing evil. He is right. I like to say it this way. A person who lives in fear is afraid of evil, and behind being afraid of evil is fearing the devil. When we fear the devil, we make him greater than God. (Selah)
